What about the inside?

After I posted my Nanny's cake Julie said she wanted to see what the inside of one of my cakes looked like. So I'm posting a cake that I did a couple years back for a friends baby shower that I hosted.

First I designed and made the invitations and then I decorated the cake to match the invites.

So here is what the inside of this cake looked like

Ok, I must confess......not ALL my cakes look like this on the inside. Usually I just do two layers with pudding between the layers. But doing the checkerboard style on this one just went so well with the invite and all the decorations that I did. It is way more time consuming to do it this way....but it definitely gives off a WOW factor!

  3. We are getting close.....431 as of 8:04 this morning! I'm counting how many comments/prayers have been left. But there are WAY MORE than 500 people who've said they are praying. (families, couples, groups)

  4. Julie, I can't give away ALL my secrets! 8)

Just kidding. It's actually not that hard, just time consuming. Give me a call and I'll explain it if you really want to know (don't feel like typing that much right now) 8-)

Oh my gosh you make me look so bad. As you know Matt has alot of time on his hands so he checks your blog reguarly, your new nickname is Super Woman. I've been wanting to share my run with you without everybody in the world seeing so e-mail me your e-address. You are doing awesome by the way and have inspired me on my eating with BLT's. 10. I love reading your blog and seeing all of your cute ideas. Your cakes are super cute and really fun. I wish I knew how to make cakes like that. Maybe I should take a class... anyway...

  12. WOW factor - no kidding. I've seen that done before, but it wasn't nearly as intricate as yours. First I thought you must've just made three or so cakes with different patterns, then cut them in half and rearranged them, but I couldn't see any patterns that matched. How many cakes did you bake to do this?
