Before you see the front family room I wanted you to see a couple new purchases I'm excited about...
This is the fantabulous mirror I just bought that I'm planning on hanging above my fireplace! I walked into HomeGoods and instantly fell in LOVE! It should really play off the 12' ceilings in that room quite nicely.

This is the bell I bought that my hubby will be haning on the front pourch. We live on 5 acres and at times it can be hard to find my kiddos when they are outside playing...so this will be what calls them in from now on! Don't you just love it?

The rest of these pics are all from the front family room. Just some of the details of the room. Once I can actually get my hubby to hang the new mirror I will take a picture of the fireplace wall and post it! but for now...here's what you get....

The front room has change with some new furniture additions and rearrangement. I will post those pics in the next couple days.

My Magaizine File Makeover

We all dream about having not only an organized space to work in, but we want it to be beautiful too! The problem is....money! Organization that is pretty generally doesn't come cheap. All those fabric covered boxes and magazine files cost a pretty penny!

So, what's a girl to do? Go to IKEA! They have all sorts of boxes and files there and you can cover them, paint them...whatever! I bought these magazine files from ikea. They are just cardboard with a nice brown floral design. It's not bad...but it didn't go with my theme...but if the price is right....I'll take it and work with it!


Sorry, I wasn't smart enough to think to take pictures of the actual process. But basically I just recovered the boxes with scrapbook paper that matched my room theme. The boxes that are on the end of the row...I covered the whole thing. But the boxes in the middle I only did the back/exposed side and just wrapped it around the edge about an inch or so. And this was my result!



VOILA! Magazine files that match my room....and it was WAY cheaper than buying the fancy fabric covered ones!

my chic new office is ready!

Since the day we started planning this house I had a vision in my head for my office. We recently had a garage sale which was VERY successful so we've had money from the old stuff to spend on some new stuff! So it was off to the store and low and behold I found some FABULOUS things for my office that fit my vision! There are a couple projects that I did in here that I will highlight in the next few days. But for now....here are the results.....

Coastal Cottage Inspiration - Nantucket Style

Here are several pics of my Aunt Patty's Nantucket Cottage. It is beautiful and we were so blessed by all of their hospitality!
The pathways are covered in seashells instead of gravel......who knew!

I love the cute new dots-n-circles line that Target recently got in for nurseries. I don't have...and won't be having....any babies, but everytime I see it I think that everybody should get it. So when I was directed by Tip Junkie to take a look at THIS BLOG it made my heart smile with glee!
