Bye Bye Home!

So it's official....we no longer own the house that we called home for the last 5 years. We took the kids to the house Sunday night just to say goodbye. We had a big family hug in the middle of the family room and the kids each got a little silly and kissed their bedroom walls and floor goodbye.

I never did get emotional. I guess I let go long ago knowing that we would be leaving eventually. We had some memorable times there as a family though. So goodbye sweet house, we hope the new family will enjoy many wonderful memories as well.

  1. As I like to say...what a BEEutiful home! (and on such nice, flat land!) I don't see how you didn't get emotional. I get so very emotional each and every time. Soppy girl, I am. It's nice to be soppy sometimes though...all those memories shared at home are so, so special.

Love your blog! I've been a "lurker" for a while now, although I really don't like that title. :-)

  2. Seems like just yesterday we moved you into this house. I still remember all the time an energy that went into this house, really don't know how you do it. But then we've been in our home almost 30 years. That's sick after seeing it inn print. HA HA Could be a generation thing. Doesn't matter Eight together you and TJ always create fabulous homes. I will miss it but I'm not kissing any walls. Can't wait to have dinner in you're new one. Luv Mom

  4. Your new floor plan is so awesome...once that's done you all won't even think about this house anymore! Plus, the back yard rocks...the trees are great...the surroundings are peaceful and the sounds from the creek are just icing on the cake...I'm excited for you guys for what's to come...

  5. What a gorgeous home!! I cannot imagine how you could improve on that, but I imagine you can...

I always detach from my homes before I move out. I guess it coincides with all the packing and the excitement of planning the new one.

    Happy Easter!

  6. Happy Easter! I've moved so many times I can relate to how you feel! By the time you finally move out, you've lost the lovin' feeling. But, it will come back again now and then. And you can fall in love with your new place! That is great fun!

    Blessings,
    Melissa
