Some things never change...

I was searching for an old post...but came across this one instead. It was posted on July 7th of last year. So basically...exactly a year ago! What is it with summer for me? Isn't summer supposed to be when you are looking your best so you can wear shorts and feel good about yourself? For some reason I always struggle with food during the summer and gain weight!

Just look where I was a year ago....

So I was leaving the dollar store eating the ice cream sandwich I had just bought and I started thinking...."what is my problem? When am I gonna get it together and start eating right and working out again?"

So as I drove home I made up this song in my head to the tune of "Tomorrow" from Annie:

I’m gonna work out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
I will run!

Just thinkin’ about
Tomorrow
And the workout routine,
I will follow...
It’ll be FUN!

When I start off my day
And weigh,
thinkin' “if only”,
I just stick out my double chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh

I’m gonna work out
Tomorrow
This fat is gonna hang on
‘Til tomorrow
WHEN I’LL SAY

Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I’ll work out
Tomorrow!

You’re always
A day
A-way!

That song could be my THEME song right now! Oh good golly...when will I just be one of those people who truly becomes healthy and fit? Maybe I should listen to subliminal message tapes while I sleep or something...do you think that would work? Hypnotism? Would that work?
What? NO? Oh....it's just the word WORK I need to focus on! Good old fashioned hard work!

......UH-OH! =)

  1. I feel your pain. I just wrote a to-be-posted post about how last year's summer clothes are cotton-based traitors. How can they all be so TIGHT? It'd be depressing if I didn't have pool-side ice cream and beer to console me.

  3. Oh my goodness, that is hilarious! You had me at double chin :)) I'm right there with ya. My treadmill is collecting so much dust I think I can write my name on it.

  4. That is sooooo funny! I definetly need all the motivation I can get to get my butt in gear. I start out so good at the beginning of summer. I don't know what happens from there. Maybe it's the ice cream : )
