This is the poster I had on the BACK of my door when I was in the 4th grade. I had to put it on the BACK of the door so that when my mom came in the room she would not have to look at it. I wasn't really allowed to have posters of boys up on my walls. It was the only poster of a boy that I ever had in my room.
Honestly I don't ever remember being infatuated with him like "oh my gosh he's so hot!" (although he was pretty cute before he went and messed it all up). I just know that I have always been enamored by his talent.
I'm a TOTAL pop culture watcher....but I've never been one to become overly emersed into it. I would never sit outside a place like Neverland and wallow in the loss. Nor would I have stood outside the courtrooms when he was undergoing the trial if I lived in that area. I'm just not THAT into it all.
But I will say that to this day I have always remained a fan. The image above is the one that sticks in my mind. His music still brings a smile to my face. I'm sad that will never get to see him in concert because I think he was an entertainment GENIUS!
It was very sad to see his daughter say goodbye to him. There are a lot of people who think he was a lot of things....but WOW...that moment just really humanized him again, don't you think.
Anyway. Think what you want to think. I will always be able to put on an MJ song and "Rock with You"

loved his music and dance moves...hated his lifestyle and poor choices that hurt those around him...
ReplyDeletePOOR CHOICES!!!!! WE'VE ALL MADE THEM AND WE HAVE ALL HURT SOMEONE. WE NEED TO PRAY MORE THAN HATE.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. There is just something about his music that sticks with you. Setting aside all we know or think we know about his life....he still has three young children who lost their father and now must deal with all of the media.
ReplyDeleteI miss MJ soo much!!
