Watchout...I'm going political today!

Someone I know personally sent the following email to me today..... (I don't usually go political on ya'll. But when some of the most dangerous and cruel leaders in current history want him to win....that should raise some serious red flags?)

This comes to me today via a daily newsletter that I receive from a woman in Israel who has lived there for years and has dual American/Israeli citizenship. Thought it was interesting....M

Tehran: We Want Obama in the White House

During a visit to Bahrain, Iran's parliament speaker Ali Larijani (shown here with Ahmadinejad) said Wednesday, Oct. 22, that Tehran would prefer Democratic senator Barack Obama in the White House next year.

He also ruled out any US attack on his country. "The risk was low before, but now I am 100 percent certain that the United States will not unleash a war against Iran," he said at a new conference in Manama.

"We lean more in favor of Obama because he is more flexible and rational, even through we know American policy will not change that much."

It must be noted that Larijani is one of the most powerful voices in Tehran's conservative camp and a close confidant of supreme ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He would not have spoken out in favor of Obama without top-level sanction.

The location Larijani chose for his statement is also significant: Bahrain is one of America's greatest friends in the Gulf region, host to the US 5th Fleet headquarters. Tehran was laying claim to a foothold in the Gulf region.

  1. There is much support for Obama from conservatives. Such as Lincoln Chaffe, Colin Powell, Jim Leache, Wayne Gikcherest etc. These are our elected officials (republican) some who have served in our military. Funny how we get political when it's negative, we want to share. Thanks for the opportunity to comment Shannon- Laurie.

  2. Laurie,
I'm completely aware that he was endorsed by those rep. leaders. Were you aware that he was endorsed by those horrific leaders?

Colin Powell stated that he felt the rep. party had gone too far to the right, and that was part of the reason he was not voting with his party. I'm comfortable with the far right and if Colin Powell isn't...then I'm not affected by his opinion.

  3. I wasn't going to join in but neither one was my first pick. But now they are our two picks abd their running mates. So no one is afraid of economics continuing the same way. No one is afraid of Palin being one heart beat away from being our president. If anyone should scare anyone it should be her. Nothing should be as horrific as the fact that she is so MORAL yet she never spoke up during her speach to tell that man he was wrong for shouting "kill obama". can i get some of the 150000 she spent on clothes and makeup last month too. I actually liked mccain more before her. She could control that obama cant control what these people say.

  4. Sarah Palin has just come out today and said that story is not true about her spending that much money. Who knows? The fact that any human has control over a country is crazy. There is not one person we could elect that won't screw up. Except Jesus himself. And some people would even say He wasn't doing things right. What are we to do. Neither of them seem like a great choice to me either, but then I don't know if a great choice is even out there. I think it's impossible, because there are too many beliefs, opinions, etc. out there. And the candidates try to please too many people. It's impossible. Just be yourself please! I am so tired of this campaigning and the commercials, and the debates, already. Obama will probably win, so lets just get on with it already. I am voting for McCain, however!

  5. I know what the far right is, very well. Voted for President Bush both terms. I don't mind far right, just don't go over the cliff. I think there's a certain arrogance that comes with that territory, if were not careful. That's far from the character of Jesus. So that being said, President Bush allowed Osama Bin Laden late brother to invest in his Texas oil comp. Talk about being endorsed by terrorist! We should pray for both candidates, for the world really is on there shoulders. Who ever that may be. Thanks girls, wish we were talking over starbucks.

  6. YOU GIRLS ARE GREAT AND EACH OF YOU HAVE VERY INTERESTING OPINIONS. I CAMPAIGNED FOR KENNEDY AND WHAT DID I KNOW. HE WAS DIFFERENT THAN ANYONE ELSE WE'VE HAD IN OFFICE THUS FAR, HIS WIFE WAS BEAUTIFUL, HER CLOTHES WERE BEAUTIFUL, HE WAS BEAUTIFUL(LOL) POLITICALLY WHO CAN SAY, WASN'T IN OFFICE LONG ENOUGH TO EVER KNOW. ONE THING WE DO KNOW HE HAD CRAP MORELS.BUT SHOULD THAT EVEN BE A FACTOR? ALL I DO KNOW IS WE ALL HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO GATHER INFORMATION, VOTE AND WHEN WE PUT OUR HEAD DOWN AT NIGHT ,WE'VE DONE OUR BEST .IN GOD WE TRUST. JOAN

  7. Ok, all that discussion is well and good...but what about the actual info I posted. How does that info make you feel. Are you actually comfortable with the fact that those leaders prefer Obama?

  8. This is what is put out there. I saw the most awful commercial yesterday. It was this info about how america would be attacked if Obama was elected and the end said and I am John McCain and I approve this message. So sad that he feels so desperate to win like Bush did the second go around...lets make america fear and maybe I'll get some votes. We are no safer here than before 911 and it doesn't matter who gets elected in Nov. I'll tell you what it doesn't matter who gets elected we will be challenged, it is that simple. I agree with Laurie...it is going to be a tough road for either candidate and unfortunately it is a huge mess to cleanup.

  9. ok, but this isn't a "fear tactic" thing that was put out by a national compaign. this is a private email to my MIL from a friend of hers who lives in Isreal. It was from the newpapers in Israel. The person in Isreal thought it was interesting enough to pass along.

  10. and because the newpapers there are so private as well...come on...lets all wake up...so you voted for Bush right...did you think that would happen during his time...why not Clinton...something that big for someone who supposedly didn't handle stuff. They went after Bush to prove a point...his daddy...and they will go again with either president to make another point to whoever it is. They will want to remind us that we are still not safe and protected and they are right. It is interesting to a point, but anything can be twisted and turned to make any point...did you see McCains new ad twisting what Biden said....look at the commercial and then see the actual speech...yea really ready for this whole thing to be done. Early voting tomorow :-)
